Ergonomic Evaluation on Chicken Feeder Tool at Egg-Laying Chicken Farm SME

This research aims to evaluate the egg-laying chicken feeder that was designed at farm small and medium enterprise (SME). The main reason of this tool design due worker’s complain feeling pain during feeding process. Evaluation performed based on Nordic Body Map questionnaire result, physiological workload, NIOSH lifting equation calculation. observed work ranged from feed filling in basket until all feeds were distributed. results showed %CVL range 18%-30% energy consumption workers 1.24-3.00 Kcal/minute. Thus, physiologically, activities carried out by categorized as very light workload. Meanwhile, evaluation using Lifting Index (LI) methods process LI value 0.9-1, therefore activity is safe perform manually. Based prototype aid, more effective 1.5 times faster than old tools. In addition, with use new tool, easier adjust dose each time.
